Wonderful shrimp and grits. The staff was nice and the inside was very homey. They know what they're doing here. Not sure if they're "top 3 in the world" shrimp and grits, but definitely excellent.

Lovely crab boil -- $69 for two people ended up feeding 2 adults plus a toddler. The crab legs were good and I especially enjoyed the shrimp and potatoes as well. Great flavors. The kids enjoyed their sandwiches and Mac and Cheese. Was a bit slow, but worth the wait!

Never disappoints to stop by here for some shrimp and grits. In my opinion it is THE best shrimp and grits. There's outdoor seating so your dog can sit while you dine. Service was typical southern hospitality and friendliness.

If you go for lunch, get the Shrimp BLT Salad! Oh. My. Gosh. It's so incredibly delicious with homemade ranch, perfectly cooked shrimp and candied bacon with fresh corn and the most yummy fried green tomatoes. Basic ingredients expertly prepared. You won't be disappointed. The servers were super friendly and provided good service. It's a cute outdoor space under a giant umbrella. We really enjoyed our lunch here.

Wonderful food selection! No frills place. Be sure to check their website for updated hours. We had the shrimp and grits and a crab cake. You can tell it's homemade. The service was good too. Full bar, nice drink selections. Highly recommended.

Oh my goodness this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. We did have difficulty finding it because Hilton head is super dark, and this was our first night out. We initially went to another restaurant (turned too late) next-door and almost settled for it until my husband saw it behind their parking lot. We left our car parked and walked the grassy area to their door. It was an hour before close, but we were seated in the patio area and greeted by a really nice young man who was very attentive, very knowledgeable and had great recommendations. We were not rushed. We decided on something light because it was late and both ordered the BLT Salad (with grilled shrimp and fried green tomato's). I've never had fried green tomatoes on a salad and even though they weren't seasoned like my grandmas , they were good. Ohhhhh Myyyyy Goodness the portions were large and it was scrumptious! The taste of the bacon reminded me of candied yams, and there were lots of BIG chunks of bacon in that salad We also shared a cup of crab soup which was surprisingly filled with a lot of crab. It was absolutely delectable. Finally, the sweet tea was just the right amount of sweet and the right amount of tea. Nothing could've made the meal more enjoyable. I would definitely go back and I highly recommend if you're in Hilton Head.

I heard good things about ALB, but I was nervous when I arrived: They don't have a bar, and singles usually don't get priority. Lucky for me I was seated quickly. Of course I ordered the sig shrimp & grits, but I also had the warm, blue crab dip for an app. The latter was full of crab, and went well w/ the pita bread. The dip did not go so well w/ the tortilla chips. I have had shrimp & grits in New Orleans, and I really enjoyed the dish. ALB's version comes w/ sausage, and is touted as #1 in SC, and #3 in the world. I thoroughly enjoyed ALB's version bc of the good amount of protein, and the creaminess of the grits. Their grits are the creamiest ones I have ever eaten. Regarding the ambiance, like the name sez, its like someone's backyard. Its super casual here, and the staff is chill. My waitress, Mary was super nice and gave me a great rec on the blue crab dip. Her sidekick Paige was also very nice. If you are looking for shrimp & grits, or other lowcountry food, ALB will not do you wrong. I felt fortunate enuf to get a seat. The line was super long when I left around 7:30 on a Thu night.

This place has one of the best shrimp and grits dishes I've ever had. Same for its key lime pie. You MUST order these two items! Our mimosas came served in mason jars. Gotta love that. The cornbread is fantastic too! Freshly made with a bit of sweetness. The venue is super cute. We sat outside and it literally looks like someone's backyard engulfed in trees with string lights, a small stage and a fountain. The service was warm and accommodating. Our lovely waitress was from South Africa and regaled us with suggestions for African travel. Do not miss this place. The pics don't do justice.
